I agree with the message, hate the delivery. I do my best to protect the women of my community daily. I have a wife and daughter, and carry a badge and gun.
But I gotta say…. These types of post embellish facts to absurdity. 16,500 reported rapes in the army can’t possibly be 20% of what actually occurred. That’d be 83,000 rapes when the female troop strength of the Army is only 76,000.
The court system redefined rape with good reason. Sexual Assault is much less ambiguous and allows the court to charge multiple crimes for a single rape. Meaning an offender can get charged for every single time they penetrated a victim after the victim said no… Or charged for every oriface penetrated as well as charges for physical assaults and fear assaults as well. The difference is between an offender serving 4 to 6 years or fifty.
Another nugget of info… Rapists don’t have to register as sex offenders in all states. Those convicted of sexual assault do. And just because someone is registered as a sex offender, doesn’t make them a rapist.
Just wanted to make some verifiable facts known.
There are good people out there with women’s best interest at heart.
